Advising specialist to depart School of Public Health
Sarah Opatz, developmental advising specialist, will be leaving the School of Public Health, effective July 1, 2022.
"Sarah has been a tremendous asset to the School of Public Health, first serving as a program coordinator and most notably as developmental advising specialist for all undergraduate students since July 2020," said Audra Hamrick.
Opatz served university-wide on the Executive Council for the Academic Advising Council and was nominated for the Nicholas Evans Excellence in Advising award two years in a row. She also collaborated with the Deans’ Ambassadors to create an internal peer tutoring program and received glowing reviews on her teaching and advising surveys.
"These accolades are a great testament to Sarah’s effort and dedication to student success," Hamrick added. "While I am sad to see her leave the SPH and WVU, I am also excited for her and this exciting new opportunity."
Opatz's last day of availability will be June 30. The recruiting process will be initiated as soon as possible in coordination with WVU Talent and Culture.
