August 2019 graduation application deadline - July 5

Students who intend to graduate in August/Summer 2019 are asked to complete their graduation application and complete steps for ETD, if applicable.

The Summer/August 2019 online graduation application is available at: http://registrar.wvu.edu/graduation-diploma. Friday, July 5, 2019 is the graduation application deadline!

Graduate students who need to submit their ETD (Electronic Thesis and Dissertation) should be aware that the submission deadline is 5pm, Friday, July 26: https://etd.lib.wvu.edu/

• If your degree program requires submission of an Electronic Thesis or Dissertation, you must submit by the deadline to be approved for August 2019 graduation/degree conferral.
• Students who miss the deadline must reapply for December 2019.

Future Commencement Exercises:

• There are no commencement exercises in August 2019
• August graduates can elect to participate (i.e., walk) in December 2019 or May 2020 commencement exercises
• Students should monitor their MIX email account and university websites – even after graduation – to learn more about future commencement ceremonies

IMPORTANT Note for Previous Graduation Applicants:

Students must apply during the term they intend to graduate. Those who have applied for previous graduation cycles (e.g., December 2018, May 2019) must reapply and resubmit the online graduation application for August 2019. Previous graduation applications are no longer valid!

Special Note Regarding Final Transcripts:

Although August 9th is the degree conferral date, university graduation coordinators have until August 16th to submit finalized graduation lists to the university registrar. If you are in need of a final transcript indicating degree completion, it may not be available until the week of August 19th.

Reminder:

“Shuttle Sheet Request” forms are due two weeks prior to the scheduled defense of a thesis, dissertation, or capstone presentation. For non-thesis MS students, please submit as soon as possible.
