Earn service hours with the West Virginia Science Bowl

The West Virginia Science Bowl provides an exciting, educational forum that encourages science, technology, engineering and math, as well as healthy competition – but they don’t run without the assistance of WVU faculty, staff, and students like you. This year, more than 250 middle and high school students from across the state will be competing on Friday, Feb. 8, and Saturday, Feb. 9 in the Mountainlair on the West Virginia University campus in Morgantown.

Volunteers are the main ingredient that make this exciting event possible. From set-up to scorekeepers, the donation of your time and energy as a volunteer enables the event to run smoothly year after year. So, whether you’ve participated before or you’re a new recruit, the Science Bowl both needs and has a position for you! With minimal commitment, participating as a volunteer at the WVSB is an excellent way to show how much you care about your community and to help inspire students who will be the next generation of scientists, researchers, and engineers.

To volunteer, please go : http://wvsciencebowl.org/volunteers/ where you will find the WVSB volunteer sign-up form. We are looking to fill such positions as timekeeper, moderator, scientific judge, scorekeeper and various other volunteer spots. A need has also been created on the WVU iServe website to log student volunteer hours. However, all volunteers must also register using the above link.
