New community action grant available for MPH student opportunity
The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation has authorized a grant award of $1,500 to the WVU School of Public Health to provide practical learning experiences for a student that will improve the health for residents in their service area. The service area for this project may include Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Jackson, Mason, Pleasants, Ritchie, Roane Wirt, and Wood counties in West Virginia and Washington County, Ohio.
The MPH student selected for this project will work with the WVU Office of Health Services Research, who have multiple opportunities for meaningful student experiences in this geographical area. The projected time line for the project will be from January 7, 2019-March 29, 2019.
Interested students will need to send a completed application to Audra Hamrick (ahamric3@hsc.wvu.edu), Director of Public Health Practice, by October 31, 2018.
