SPH announces new Director of Research

Amanda Jelsema has accepted the position of Director of Research Administration for the School of Public Health and will begin her employment with us on April 5, 2019.

Amanda comes to us after three years as the program coordinator supporting the Center for Excellence in STEM Education. Her current role involves working with pre- and post-award and project management for proposals associated with efforts of the center. Prior to her current position, she worked as a project manager for the Research Corporation. Before that, she spent time at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, NC. Amanda holds a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, and a Master of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Amanda will lead our research office staff and will work closely with Roberta Mogyoros and the business office to help us streamline and coordinate our research and business operations into an integrated approach.

There will be a “meet and greet” for Amanda and other new SPH staff in the coming weeks. Details will be forthcoming.
