Students invited to round-table with clinician, global health expert

Fred Gottlieb, MD, MPH, will visit the Health Sciences Center this week to share his international experiences with students and faculty in the School of Public Health. Students are invited to join Dr. Gottlieb for a round-table discussion on Friday, April 12, in G274 HSC-S from 10:30-11:30 a.m. 

In his TedX Talk, "Poverty, Disaster Relief and International Health," Gottlieb addresses misperceptions that affect how we view poverty, disaster relief and international health. He stresses passion, empathy and generosity of spirit. Gottlieb practices geriatric medicine in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has participated in international disaster relief efforts. He is a professor in the MPH programs at Westminster College and the University of Utah. He has been a Peace Corps worker and has been involved in many international medical projects.
