WVU is increasing Culinary Health Opportunities for aspiring Professionals (iCHOP Aspiring)
through a 16-week upper-level Mediterranean lifestyle course with an emphasis on nutrition
knowledge, culinary skills, sustainable practices and food systems.

The online, 3-credit course is being offered in Spring 2019 to junior, senior, and pre-graduate school and first-year graduate students in health-related fields. Following the completion of this course, the group will travel to Tuscany, Italy, for a 12-day cultural immersion featuring culinary lessons, pasta, olive oil, ancient grain, cheese, and wine production facility tours, beekeeping, and more. The goal of this course is to teach aspiring health professionals the principles of and empower them to use the Mediterranean diet in their future practices.
