WVU SPH Strategic Planning Survey 1: Results
The strategic planning steering committee would like to again thank those of you who completed our recent survey. It is extraordinary that so many of you took the time to think through the statements and suggest so many ideas for us to consider. This constructive feedback truly does help to determine what we are doing well and what we need to improve upon. Our hope is that you will continue to actively participate in this strategic planning process as we move forward.
In this downloadable PDF, you will find relevant respondent data that has been compiled into easy-to-read charts for your convenience. We did not include individualized responses in an attempt to maintain confidentiality. The bar graph identifies the number of respondents from each group, while the pie charts portray the level of comfort with each of the original statements presented.
Based on vital feedback from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders – and with Dean Coben’s final seal of approval – below are the final mission and vision statements for the West Virginia University School of Public Health. We are thrilled to point out that our new vision statement was suggested in its entirety by a survey respondent who identified themselves as a SPH faculty member!
New Mission Statement:
“To improve the quality of life for West Virginians and all who call Appalachia home.”
New Vision Statement:
“Healthy people in thriving communities.”
In the coming weeks, you should expect to see a second survey that will contain questions specifically geared toward our “strategic compass,” which lists the strategic priorities for the school. We very much look forward to your continued participation in this strategic planning process – it is much appreciated!
